Pacific Agreement on Closer Economic Relations Plus (PACER Plus)
The Pacific Agreement on Closer Economic Relations Plus (PACER Plus) is a regional development-centered trade agreement designed to support Pacific Island countries to become more active partners in, and benefit from, regional and global trade. PACER Plus covers trade in goods, trade in services, investment, temporary movement of natural persons, development and economic cooperation, institutional arrangements, transparency, and consultation and dispute settlement.
Chapter 4 (Articles 5 and 6) and chapter 6 (Article 6) of the PACER Plus agreement encourage countries to use automated customs systems, promote the development of technical skills and the use of technology, and facilitate trade through the exchange of information.
Geographical coverage : Australia, Cook Islands, Nauru, Niue, New Zealand, Kiribati, Tuvalu, Samoa, Solomon Islands, Tonga, and Vanuatu.
